Loan How does pawning work?

Bring in an item of value and a valid state-issued photo ID. We evaluate your item and explain the loan amount, interest, fees and due date before you decide.

Your item stays securely stored with us during the four-month loan term. You can get it back by paying the loan balance and applicable interest and fees. We also provide a 10-day grace period after the loan term ends.

Loan How much can I get for my item?

Your loan amount depends on the item’s condition, authenticity, current resale value and customer demand. Bring it in for an evaluation, and our experienced staff will explain what we can offer. There is no obligation to accept.

Loan What do I need to take out a loan?

Bring your item and a valid state-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license or identification card. Accessories, chargers and other parts that belong with your item can help us evaluate it and may affect the amount we can offer.

Selling Do you buy as well as loan?

Yes! You can sell your item outright or use it as collateral for a pawn loan. We can often offer more when you sell. A sale is permanent; a pawn loan lets you reclaim your item by paying the loan balance and applicable interest and fees.

Redeem Do I have a grace period on the loan?

Yes. We provide a 10-day grace period after your four-month loan term ends. We send a notice by mail and/or text, so please keep your contact information current. Contact the store holding your loan if you have questions about your deadline.

Redeem What if I cannot pay the loan off?

Contact us before your deadline. You can start a replacement four-month loan by paying the interest and fees due. If you choose not to redeem or renew your loan, you give up the item, which may then be sold. This does not affect your credit.

Redeem Can a friend, family member or spouse pick up my loan?

Yes, with a notarized authorization from the original customer. Please contact the store holding your loan before sending someone to pick it up so we can explain the required paperwork and identification.

Redeem Do you mail out reminder notices?

Yes. We send a notice by mail and/or text when your four-month loan term ends and the 10-day grace period begins. Please keep your mailing address and mobile number current, and use the due date on your pawn ticket to plan your payment.

Redeem Can I get information about my loan over the phone?

We can answer general questions and may provide limited loan information after verifying your identity. To protect your privacy, we cannot discuss detailed item descriptions or identify which item is on a particular ticket over the phone. Have your pawn ticket handy when you call.

Redeem My loan expired a few weeks ago. Can I still get my items back?

Contact the store holding your loan immediately. If the loan term and grace period have ended, your item may already be available for sale or may have been sold.

If it is still available, we can explain your options, including purchasing it back. We cannot guarantee availability after your deadline.

Safety Will my items be safe?

Yes. Keeping your items safe is a priority at Perris Pawn and Hemet Pawn. Both stores have security cameras, alarm systems and walk-in vaults for valuables. We carefully document and securely store your items, and we treat your belongings with care throughout your loan.

Our stores are highly secured with vaults, security systems, bullet-resistant glass and camera systems.

Safety I see something for sale that may have been taken from me. What should I do?

First, file a police report. Include identifying details such as serial numbers, photos or receipts. Then contact our store with your police report number and identify the item you believe is yours.

We report all items we take in to the California Department of Justice database daily. Purchased items are held for seven days before being offered for sale, and pawned items are held throughout the four-month loan term and applicable grace period. We take these concerns seriously and cooperate with law enforcement to verify ownership and help resolve the matter.

Buying Do you offer guarantees on items purchased in-store or online?

For showroom purchases, we offer a three-day guarantee on electronics, tools and cameras. If a covered item has a problem, we will repair or replace it at our discretion. This guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse or a change of mind.

Online purchases have a separate seven-day return policy with a 7% restocking fee. Please review our Refund Policy for the full terms before purchasing.

Buying Do you offer layaway on showroom items?

Yes! Layaway generally requires a 25% deposit, with the remaining balance paid within 90 days. Other payment schedules may be available—ask our staff. We do not charge a layaway service fee.

The basics

What is pawn?

Put simply, customers pledge property as collateral, and in return pawnbrokers lend them money. When customers pay back the loan, their merchandise is returned to them.

Pawn loans are made on everything from jewelry to electronics. If the customer elects not to redeem his or her collateral, there is no credit consequence to the borrower, and the items are sold at a value price to retail consumers.

Security

Your item does not leave the vault

Keeping your items safe is a priority at Perris Pawn and Hemet Pawn. Both stores have security cameras, alarm systems, and walk-in vaults for valuables. We carefully document and securely store the items you pledge, and we treat your belongings with care throughout your loan.

Why a pawn loan

What is the deal?

Pawn stores offer collateral loans at low interest rates and specialize in short-term small loans. They can offer this because the customer pledges personally owned property as collateral, which significantly reduces the risk for the lender.

> 90%

Collateral comes home

With us, over 90% of all collateral property is re-claimed by the customer who pawned it.*

0

Credit consequence

If you choose not to redeem, there is no credit consequence to you. The item is simply sold in the showroom.

CA

Regulated contract

Secured short-term loans from pawnbrokers are highly regulated, and all terms are stated in the contract in compliance with California law.

If you are looking for a secured short-term loan and do not qualify for a loan from your bank or credit union, it is worth seeing what the pawn industry has to offer.
